I implemented the stabilization method proposed in the previous post. I then wrote another video filter that grabbed a scanline after each frame. Below are video sequences of these methods.
Notice that the tracking works well for several frames until all the features die off. This shows there must be a more robust method for tracking accounting for the unstable nature of the KLT feature extractions.
The helix image was generated by grabbing a 480x1 pixels scanline directly over the radar. The scanline vertical position was dependent on the stabilization parameters.
